2018 – What Theme ? – NO THEME!

This year we are celebrating our 10th Awards. There will be a major event on the 23rd May 2018, at Nottingham Playhouse to showcase the upcoming talent that this city has to offer. That means YOU!

In previous years, just like the constraints of working in general arts industries, our team of experts have provided a theme and brief for artists, performers and designers to work within.

However, this year, in order to celebrate the 10th Awards, we want to showcase just how creative Nottingham is. So we have decided to offer the opportunity to anyone that wants to enter the competition with………..

That’s right, you are free to let your creativity take you somewhere new. We want you to be adventurous and daring. We want you to do something that scares you, something that you’ve never dared to try before. The No Theme means that you are able to do just that. What inspires you? What are you interested in? What do you want to change?

This is your chance to break free from the constraints and cross boundaries. Where do you see Nottingham going? What excites you about the city and your life within it? What does being creative mean to you, and how does it make you passionate? You could write a song about Nottingham, make an outfit out of unusual materials, bring a dinosaur to life through animation, create a parallel universe where all mythical creatures exist or paint a gothic Victorian woman. In 2018 we are also introducing a brand new category of Theatre and Performance.

We want to see what you’re really made of and this is your chance to show us.

Entries are now closed for the 2018 Young Creative Awards. All entrants are invited to the free awards night taking place at the Nottingham Playhouse on 23 May 2018. For more information visit The Awards
