Nottingham Trent student Kirstie Hamilton has joined Young Creative Awards supporter, and one of the largest and best full-service design agencies in the Midlands, Michon Creative, for the next month to design the YCA 2017 brochure. Kirstie won the work placement as she really impressed with her diverse design portfolio, comprising various disciplines and styles – a trait very suited to the eclectic and varied brand style of YCA.
“I’m currently a BA(hons) Graphic Design second year student. I am excited about the forthcoming experience of working with the Michon team, as part of a placement to help create the programme for YCA. In the first year of University, I entered the Penguin Random House Design Awards and came 3rd in the Children’s Cover Category. I loved the experience and it taught me a lot about working to print and design specifications. Throughout second year we have worked on editorial and branding projects, which I have enjoyed. This has made me feel more confident working on InDesign and allowed me to understand and become excited about publication design. I think the Young Creative Awards project will be a great experience for me to contribute to Nottingham’s creative scene and enhance my skills. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn and work with the Michon Creative team.”
