Young Creatives Club: Making the Most of Every Opportunity

On Thursday 27 February (5pm – 8pm) we will be collaborating once again with The Big House and The Prince’s Trust for another Young Creatives’ Club at Blend. Tickets are FREE and can be booked right here.

The Young Creatives’ Club is a space for younger creatives to to connect, network, hatch plans, collaborate, skill share, be curious, ask questions and discuss all things creative, digital, entrepreneurship, business, and beyond. If you are aged 16-25, this event is especially designed for you, although all ages are welcome.

As well as an opportunity to meet and connect, there will the chance to hear inspiring stories from three brilliant young speakers, who will talk about how they have made the most of every opportunity…

LISS COOKE
Liss Cooke won the Young Creative Award for Fashion & Textiles (19-24 age group) in 2018, whilst completing her MA in Textile Design Innovation at NTU. The YCA judges loved Liss’s selection of beautiful embroidered and embellished jewellery designs. Liss went on to take up a traineeship with award-winning fashion brand Mary Katrantzou in London, collaborating on exciting projects including a dress for Beyoncé! Having been taken on full time, Liss is now Head Embroidery Designer at Mary Katrantzou, while also developing a freelance portfolio which includes textile and jewellery design, and delivering university lectures.

HOLLY NOWAK
Holly Nowak is the textile designer behind The Hungry Ghost – a textile brand which blurs the line between conceptual artworks and functional items. Holly started working with textiles when she completed a BA Honours in 2014 in Aberdeen at Gray’s School of Art, where she specialised in print and mixed media textiles. Five years later in 2019 Holly completed an MA in Textile Innovation at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in sensory knitted textiles where The Hungry Ghost was born.
