How do I enter the competition?

View details on the YCA entry criteria for more information and then submit your entry to us.

What happens after I send in my entry?

After you submit your entry you will receive an email confirmation. The deadline for entries to the 2022 Young Creative Awards is 12pm (midday) on Monday 25 April 2022. Judging will take place after the closing date. Shortlisted entrants for each category will be announced, via social media, in early June 2021. Winners will be announced in late June 2022. Exact dates TBC.

We hope to be able to organise some exhibitions and events in Autumn 2022, although this depends on the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

Can I enter more than one piece of work per category?

You can only enter one piece of work per category, so make sure it is your best piece and complete the application form, detailing how it meets the brief.

Can I enter more than one category?

You can enter as many categories as you wish but can only submit one entry per category. You will need a separate application form with each entry in the different categories.

What age do I need to be to enter?

You will need to be aged between 11 and 24 by the closing date for entries to enter the competition.

If you are aged between 11 and 16 years old when the competition closes, your online entry will need approval from a parent, guardian, teacher or responsible adult. If you are a group including any 11-16 year olds, the same applies.

Can I enter if I live outside of the city?

The awards are open to all young creative people who live, study or work in Nottingham. So you may live outside the city, but as long as you attend a school, college or university within the city, or work in Nottingham, you may still enter. We define the eligible area of Nottingham as the parts of the "Nottingham Urban Area" (defined by the Office for National Statistics) within Nottinghamshire. Please see this map for clarification.

How can I get involved further in the Young Creative Awards?

We are always looking for help with promoting the Young Creative Awards, so if you have a large network of young people who may want to enter the awards then please let us know and we will supply the information for you to send on to them.

Alternatively you may wish to offer mentoring opportunities or work experience, or to supply a prize for a winner, again please do contact us.

If you wish to sponsor the awards, help out with providing exhibition space etc., then we would also love to hear from you.
