To enter the Fashion & Textiles category you must submit:
1. Photographs of a completed outfit, garment or accessory you have designed and made (this can include shoes, hats, bags, jewellery, or other fashion accessories); and/or photographs of original textile designs (print, embroidery, weave, knit etc.); and/or a digital fashion outcome (magazine design/article etc.).
2. Evidence of the process you took from your initial inspiration or concept, through idea generation and refinement of those ideas, to your final design.
- Please submit no more than 3 boards- 2 boards for process and thinking and 1 board for the finished garment.
- Please confirm if the finished garment/product can be displayed at the YCA exhibition if requested
Your entry should include your ideas and designs. Entrants are encouraged to show examples of the type of materials and fabrics used for their design, although this not compulsory. - If shortlisted, we may ask you submit your actual piece of work for inclusion in the YCA exhibition. The online entry form must be completed. You also need to submit a short description of your work and what inspired you to create it, as this will also be considered as part of the judging process.
We acknowledge AI is now used as a tool in many creative and technological processes. If AI has been used in the creative process, it needs to be referenced in the application.
