To enter the Young Creative Awards you must be between the ages of 13 and 24 years old at the closing date of the competition (13 March 2017).
You must also do one of the following: Live, Work or Study in Nottingham.
Please note, if you do not meet the entry criteria your entry will not be considered.
Within each category, there are 3 age bands – each category is judged in each of the age ranges to make it as fair as possible:
- 13 – 15 years old
- 16 – 18 years old
- 19 – 24 years old
You may enter as an individual, as a group, or as a class or study group, or club. If you are entering as a group, please let us know this on your application form and provide details of the main contact person.
You can enter in one or more of the 10 YCA categories, which are: Architecture and Design; Animation and Digital Media; Creative Writing; Dance; Fashion and Textiles; Film; Graphic Design; Music; Photography and Visual Arts.
Your entry must be linked to the Young Creative Awards 2017 theme “Nottingham, Future City” and you must show on your entry form how you meet the brief, explaining what inspired you to create your piece of work.
In each age group and category, the panels will look for a winner, and entrants who are highly commended for the quality of the work submitted.
An overall winner across all the categories will be chosen and the winner announced as the Young Creative of the Year 2017 at the end of the awards ceremony in May. The winner in each category will receive a cash prize, plus mentoring and other opportunities. The Young Creative of The Year will receive an additional cash prize.
All cash prizes will be received at the end of the awards ceremony, this is taking place on Wednesday 10 May 2017, at the Nottingham Playhouse and all entrants are invited to attend.
